Trooper Nikky J. Green

Trooper Green dedicated his life to helping others. Nik was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend. He was married to Linda and the father of three beautiful daughters, Cortni, Brooklyn, and Morgyn. Nik was devoted to his church, his family, and the belief that everyone can make a difference. He was the youth pastor and associate pastor of his church and a man of great faith.

Nik had served as a Cotton County Deputy, Undersheriff, and also as a patrolman for the Guthrie Police department before becoming an Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper.

On December 26, 2003, Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Nikky J. Green gave his life in the line of duty while attempting to arrest a methamphetamine cook on a rural county road in southwest Cotton County.
Trooper Green’s Memorial Service was attended by law enforcement officers from Oklahoma and many other states. There were over 3,000 people who paid tribute to Nik and his family.

Trooper Green has been recognized as Trooper of the Year in 2003 and also by the Oklahoma Legislation in House Bill 2176, which enacted the first law regulating products containing methamphetamine ingredients, as well as the House Resolution 1051, naming part of the US State Highway 70 as the Nikky J. Green Memorial Highway.
